Gongs

The gong is an ancient percussion instrument originating in East Asia. It is a metal disc or plate made of metal alloys that depend on the type of gong and the manufacturer. There are them in different forms with different peculiarities. At TUNUNTUNUMBA we sell two types of gong: Gongs Feng (or wind gongs) and Gongs Tam Tam (or Chao Gongs). When striking the gong with the mallet, it begins to vibrate developing a pressure wave that is perceived, not only through the ears, but also through the skin, although this is produced with more intensity as the size of the gong increases. It is used in rituals, musical works, theatrical performances, in music therapy sessions, sound baths, etc. No two gongs are the same. Although they are of the same type and the same size, as they are handcrafted, two are never identical, so the sound will always be different.
