Darbukas

The darbuka (also called doumbek) is a percussion instrument of Arabic origin used throughout the Middle East, Mediterranean countries and, with the golbalisation, it is already being played practically all over the world.

It belongs to the group of cup drums. It produces two main sounds that form the basis of your technique: a low sound (dum) and a high sound (tak), but more effects can be produced depending on the technique used. In Egypt it is called "Table" (a generic word for percussion instruments).
