Clariphone

The Clariphone is a small wind instrument that is a hybrid between the Chalumeau and the Xaphoon. The starting point is a Chalumeau, which is a small clarinet with recorder fingering, but whose number and arrangement of the holes have been modified in such a way that its tessitura is significantly broadened, reaching more than two and a half octaves, from B-1 to G2. The sound is exactly the same as that of the Chalumeau. It also has a clarinet mouthpiece, but the fingering is that of the Xaphoon.

The Clariphone is an invention of Sans Luthier. It is made in Spain. They can be made in other woods. If the wood you are interested in is not in our catalog, do not hesitate to ask.
