Changing head tension with a bicycle tube. By applying air to the valve, we give more tension to the skin and by removing the air we obtain the opposite effect.
The fact of being able to change the tension of the patch is very useful, since the skins change tension every day and depending on the climate of the place, depending on the humidity of the environment. With this system, we can compensate for any variation quickly and easily and thus always have optimal sound. If we give air with a simple bicycle pump, the skin will tighten and it will sound higher pitched. If we release air, the skin will flabby and it will sound lower. There are times when, if it is relaxed, it doesn't even sound.
It is handcrafted in Spain.

The udu is a percussion instrument of African origin. It is originally made of ceramic, with the consequent fragility against any blow. This udu is made with a pumpkin, so it makes it more resistant. The bass is very similar to that achieved with a ceramic one, but the blow to the body is drier.

Please note that the skins are very sensitive to changes in humidity, and when the weather is very dry, they can become so taut that they can deform the frame of the tambourine and even unhinge it. TUNUNTUNUMBA cannot be held responsible for this occurrence, so a repair or replacement of the instrument CANNOT BE GUARANTEED. It is the customer's responsibility to be aware of this, assume the risk in the event of purchase, and try to keep the tambourine in a suitable environment to prevent this from happening.
