The udu is a percussion instrument of African origin. It is originally made of ceramic, with the consequent fragility against any blow. This udu is made with a pumpkin, so it makes it more resistant. The bass is very similar to that achieved with a ceramic one, but the blow to the body is drier.

With the modification that is incorporated in the clariphone, the range of the instrument increases to more than two and a half octaves, from B1 to G2, inspired by the Italian Ciaramella and the Catalan Flabiol. A playable hole is added with the little finger of the left hand. It is 33 cm long, 8 holes in the upper part and one in the lower part. Tuned in C.
